Yay!! You've made it to the Gibson Coat sewalong!!
I am SO happy you've decided to join me - my goal here is to make the quilt coat sewing process not so intimidating!
Just a disclaimer....
My personal belief, is that there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to sewing/quilting. There are endless methods and techniques that can be used to accomplish results. If you're struggling with one that I've mentioned here, a quick google or youtube search will likely bring up alternatives that may work better for you.
This sewalong is made to help guide you when making a quilt coat. Want to make it in a stretchy fabric? Go for it!! (You’re awfully brave if you do, but I sure as hell am not going to stop you). Get creative with your coat and don’t take the process too seriously. I know I truly fell in love with sewing when I let go of the fact that things need to be done one way, with no exceptions.
Alright... now that you've read my whole spiel, we can get to making our coats!! If you need clarification or additional help along the way, don't hesitate to reach out via email or social media.
